She writes about nature, the coming of age, and the turbulence of love. Maia sings languid and ethereal melodies above a foundation of piano and guitar ostinatos. For the last few years, she has collaborated and written music with her father, Noah Jarrett, in the duo entitled “The Pleiades”. Maia’s first album ‘Migrations’ embodies the freedom she feels when creating. It is her outlet; it is taking flight. Each song represents a step she has made to find herself, and discover life’s meaning and music’s ability to transcend.
